Leeds Castle
Today's destination was Leed Castle, which we did again by bus.
Dear Reader,
Today's destination was Leed Castle, which we did again by bus. The journey took about 1 hour. The castle itself was impressive, especially as beautiful as it is. Inside there is an interactive and entertaining exhibition of history. You can only enter in small groups to protect the integrity of the castle. One thing is very different from my previous experience of the castle. On the one hand it is in very nice condition, but it is not restored on a period basis. Most of the grounds use modern tools, but in a realistic way. Vinyl floors are in the spirit of the time. Let's say that fact doesn't take anything away from how beautiful it is. What is important to point out, however, is that the furnishings are very much original. You can see that they wanted to create a show and entertainment centre. Many families spent their day in the park and the animal area. Leaving the castle, we made our way to the back where there is a bird sanctuary for hawks and owls. At two o'clock there was a small bird show, how they fly and hunt, and a speaker told us what we needed to know about the bird in action. It was obvious that the birds are very used to people. They flew very close above our heads and when they got bored of the presentation they went back to their place, making the speaker a bit uncomfortable, but with a joke everything can be handled and was handled. It was very cool. After that we walked through a maze of bushes, the exit of which is through a cave. Brilliantly done. After that we had about 1 hour free time, which I used again for photography. The park was so beautifully manicured and colourful that it was not to be missed. There are hundreds of species of plants in the park, showing off their most beautiful faces to visitors. The Mediterranean garden and the plant garden are not to be underestimated. One was more beautiful than the other, you just couldn't get enough of it. After all this experience we headed back.
Last but not least, I would like to tell you about an experience today that is both pleasant and not. There was also a lunch break. There were several options in the place ( let's admit none of them were wallet friendly). My choice was a BBQ tent where I had a home made burger. The pleasant experience was that the burger was very tasty, the only unpleasant part was the wait of over an hour for it. There was only one person at the counter and the cashier lady was watching what he was doing. I didn't even understand the situation. What was particularly annoying was that he served about everyone else before us who came after us. I learned afterwards from the guide that I should be proud of myself for waiting over an hour for this. The English people are not so patient and most of them ask for their money back and move on. I was not interested in this option because I was hungry. Our one person apologized to everyone and tried to be nice to us. It was really saved by the fact that it was delicious. I'm glad I didn't miss it and that as a Hungarian I can say I'm patient.
